I didn't know about Leon's upbringing and his pledge to give his money away. I see him differently but am still not a fan.

I know the SEC went after him for insider trading. I know he said he wasn't guilty but I'm always suspicious when people pay to settle. I believe part of his interview was a jab at Redditors but also know he expressed his disagreement about the current definition of fair share and where it's heading.

With that said, what they did to Andrew Left was just wrong. He stated an opinion, had some facts and valid concerns behind it, and people harassed him and his family. That went too far. People can disagree with a short but they should have respectfully disagreed rather than go after him.

Same goes for the hedge funds. People can be angry with them and what they've done for decades but bringing out the pitchforks isn't the solution. The focus should be on peaceful, constructive dialogue that leads to meaningful change rather than hoping the issue slips away on the next big news item.
